Christos Georgacopoulos, MHRE, has more than 11 years of experience in various roles in the ambulatory healthcare setting with extensive concentration on lean process improvement, practice transformation, PCMH, coordinated care delivery, quality measures, care management, practice management, organizational development, and project management.

Throughout a period of over 10 years with Advocate Healthcare, Illinois’ largest health system, Christos held a variety of roles focused on the outpatient and ambulatory setting. He gained extensive experience in integrating the Toyota Production System to the healthcare environment by facilitating cross functional teams through a variety of lean events, such as kaizen, value stream analysis, vertical value stream, and 2P (production preparation). This work involved collaborating closely with teams of senior leaders, physicians, front line staff, and other care providers to improve operational effectiveness by not only instilling the lean principles, but also working to embed these principles into the organization’s culture.
Christos lead initiatives in workflow redesign in primary care that resulted in developing coordinated care delivery systems, increase in quality measures, as well as 16 practices achieving level 3 PCMH recognition from NCQA. He also facilitated 2P events that created the design plans for a new outpatient campus consisting of 12 specialty and ancillary care departments, as well as redesign of departments in existing buildings or maximize revenue generating space. Christos continued to use the lean principles in his role as Project Manager as he managed system wide projects for Advocate Healthcare in a variety of areas including language and interpretation services, wholesale pharmacy distribution, care provider recruitment modeling, provider access, EHR system implementation and planning, design, and construction.

As Director of Operations, Christos was responsible for 2 outpatient clinics with 32 physicians and care providers spanning 15 specialty and ancillary service lines. He successfully launched new patient care services and lead initiatives that improved revenue, quality, patient experience, and physician and associate engagement.

Christos has a Master of Human Resource Education from the University Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In addition, he also has a certificate in Project Management in Healthcare from the Harvard School of Public Health.
